🔹 Catch the drift 💨
Technology is evolving so rapidly that it sometimes feels a bit tricky to get hold of it. So here we are to make you informed about new technologies that will make you catch the drift.
Electric vehicles
Electric Vehicles are means of transport that consume electric energy as fuel instead of traditional fuels such as petrol, diesel, and CNG. These vehicles may be powered through a collector system by electricity from off-vehicle sources or maybe inbuilt with a battery, solar panels, fuel cells, or an electric generator to convert fuel to electricity. Electric bikes, electric cars, electric rickshaws, etc are some examples of electric vehicles. Most of the trains including metros are already running worldwide through electricity.
Today when the world is thriving to use day by day new technology everywhere, Electric Vehicles must be the future means of transport. Pollution, growing demand for fuel, Global Warming, and promoting eco-friendly means of transport are some of the reasons for promoting electric vehicles. Electric vehicles run from electricity and doesn't emit smoke thus it is very helpful for reducing the pollution which causes many types of life threatening disease.Smoke is also one of the major causes of global warming. Thus using electric vehicles will reduce global warming.Petrol, Diesel and CNG are non-renewable natural resources of energy. Over-use of these fuels is not good for nature also. Thus use of electric vehicles can be very helpful for conservation of these natural resources.Today when advancement of technology is growing rapidly electric vehicles are new means of transport to fulfil the larger demand of people growing day by day.Electric vehicles are eco-friendly. Use of electric vehicles is good for the environment as well as human life.
Electric vehicles are new technology. This sector will grow day by day which will generate lot of employment in this field. Also it will reduce the import cost of petrol, diesel like fuels and thus it will help in growing the economy of the country.Cost of electric vehicles is also low if we compare the recurring expenditure on petrol and diesel used in traditional means of transport.Times are changing and so is our climate. The use of limited fossil fuels has changed our environment and we need to search alternatives to generate and use energy. When coming up with alternatives, it is important that it is not at the expense of the economic growth and the current standard of living. Therefore, one of the best suitable alternatives is the development of the electric car.

✍🏻 Launching a Quantum Computing career! - A Guide for Newbies🔖
Breaking into quantum computing isn’t as difficult as it seems.
Do you have any idea about Quantum Computing? Well!! Take a look at this blog on how we can pick up knowledge in launching a Quantum Computing career.
Have a look at this article :
https://builtin.com/software-engineering-perspectives/quantum-computing-career
Here are our take aways from the article :
Quantum computing is a rapidly-emerging technology that harnesses the laws of quantum mechanics to solve problems too complex for classical computers.
I’ll walk you through the five foundational skills you’ll need to dive into this quickly growing field.
1) Curiosity
It may sound cheesy but the first and most important quality you need to have to get into quantum — or any field, really — is curiosity. I know curiosity is not technically something you can obtain. Still, it is crucial if you’re considering quantum computing as a potential profession.
2) Basic Electronics
Because quantum computing is, after all, a computing field, we can say it has three primary layers: algorithmic, software and hardware. If you decide to pursue a career in this field, you’ll probably be drawn toward specializing in one of these areas.
3) Linear Algebra and Probability Theory
Math is probably the first thing that might discourage someone from getting into quantum computing. Math is also an essential part of most technical and scientific fields, including data science, statistics and artificial intelligence.
When it comes to quantum computing, two particular branches of math are heavily involved in describing and analyzing a quantum computer’s behavior: linear algebra and probability theory.
4) Some Physics
What differentiates quantum computers from the computers we have today is how they use the phenomenon of quantum physics and mechanics, such as entanglement and quantum superposition, to solve problems differently.
In the case of classic computing, you don’t need to know precisely how a computer's hardware works in order to create with it. Mostly, you just need to know how to use it.
5) Basic Programming
To get started with quantum computing in the current landscape, you’ll probably need to know some programming basics. Currently, some programming languages are entirely designed to program quantum computers. Still, they’re designed to be similar to existing classical programming languages to make the transition to quantum much easier.
If you ever decide to try your hand at quantum computing, do it with the same mindset you do any other field.
Most importantly, don’t forget to unleash your curiosity.✨
Good luck on your learning journey!
👨🎨 From our Coterie 👩🎨
Our SB is filled with people who excel at every niche. And that is one of our greatest strengths. So we bring the best works from our coterie.
In this edition, we have an article by Anagha K Sasidharan of 2k20 CSE.
Buzz…
Theoretical classes continued…Those tedious lectures on operating systems compulsively drained off my charge!...completely dry and devastating…I just decided to shut down my RAM…Let me enjoy the peace of victory…Roll number 12! 12..12! Yes sir! All of a sudden my mouth responded which gave an impulsive stimuli to my whole nervous system…Stood up, smiled, and received a smile in response to it. What’s the difference between program and process? He asked meanwhile I kept smiling….smiled throughout but this time it was a tough response… Still, my limbic cortex waited to get a notify() from my dream…
By the time I just got the entry ticket to my self-directed series. I was casually thinking about the fox in Firefox…Seriously who named it? After a long process, I got a clear view of the logo of Firefox on my HD screen. Yeah! There is a fox in it similar to an embryo. Exhaled in temporary relief! Began searching in Firefox for more info… Later understood, the fox was inculcated in the logo for being agile, quick, clever, and untamed attributes easily applied to its mythical cousin, the “Firefox” of browser fame. But Firefox has an extra advantage in comparison with fox: its stretchiness. “Firefox” which we have always known as a browser is stretching to cover a family of products and services united by putting us and our privacy first. It’s an easy way to protect our passwords on every device and an early warning if our email has been part of a data breach. Safe, private, eye-opening. Thereafter, I came to know the fact that at the beginning the name was Mozilla Firebird.
The transition from bird to fox is something we want to think about…However being in 2022, since the logo can be moderately assumed as a fox, yeah may( damn sure!) the logo can undergo a drastic transition… If they want a name with the best attributes I can show the attitude to consider my name….Throughout the period my laughter didn’t find its end by connecting ‘fire’ with the name of different animals. Suddenly my non-runnable state went back to runnable… It’s lunch break and no events could pause my hypothalamus!

Prize Winning Article :
Augmented Reality, like the name suggests, augments the real world by adding in virtual elements. Virtual Reality on the other hand, completely replaces the real world with a virtual one. Both of these technologies use digital instruments to enhance our experience.
AR uses technology to provide us with visual and sensory stimuli to upgrade the real world experience. In the beginning, AR was mostly developed as a marketing tool where consumers would be given an immersive experience of the product they are buying, some major examples being :
- Ikea Place : an app which allows you to visualise how their furniture would look in your house.
- L’Oreal Modiface : an app which allows you to digitally overlay various makeup products onto your live photos and videos and see how they look.
But nowadays AR is branching out into many different fields, one such field is the gaming industry. AR is now one of the staple parts of the gaming industry, with more and more games developing their programs to add in AR elements, some big examples being ; PokemonGo, Jurassic World Alive and Ingress Prime.
Virtual Reality, nicknamed as the ‘technology of future’, gives you the opportunity to completely immerse yourself into a virtual world, with scenes and objects giving you an illusion of reality. Unlike AR, VR builds a complete artificial world, with its own objects, people, sensory and auditory stimuli, all digitally constructed. VR finds itself useful in many sectors, some of them being :
- Healthcare : practitioners are able to learn and perform surgeries in a digitally simulated operating room.
- Aeroplanes and Space : Pilots and Astronauts are able to go through many simulations and get a jist of what it would be like if they were to face a catastrophic incident and prepare for it.
